This book introduces the bass cleff to beginners learning the piano. It is assumed that the beginner has learnt the treble (or G) clef and is now ready to progress to the bass clef. It is written for children, young pianist and adults who want to progress at a gradually and steady pace.
The book consists of four parts. The first part focuses on the left hand, designed for easy grasping of the clef. The second part is slightly tougher and focuses on reading and playing the clef using the right hand. The third part then focuses on using both hands, introducing a set of short pieces. The fourth part focuses on chords, developing visual memory to deal with notes above or below the ledger lines; here a series of melodic and harmonic chords are introduced.
